Joanna Quinn
Joanna Quinn was born in Birmingham in 1960’s and grew up in North London. She made most of her work around the time of the big feminist movements; because of this she wanted her work to be a voice for women. She made a lot of her short films about life from an average woman’s life.  She didn’t make her characters unbelievable, instead she made them as realistic and common as possible to show a point of view which weren’t seen much.  I think this was a very bold thing to do and it worked really well in that era.

 Alison De Vere
Allison de vere is an English animator who did some of her most famous work in the 1980’s. She was one of the first female animators to win the Annarcy award. One of her most popular works is the “The Black Dog” which was made in 1987. This short film is based on an innocent girl growing up through life, and her spirit dog guiding her. She starts off very innocent but gets led down the wrong road until she turns her life around. I really liked how this was animated in a simple way with weird interesting creatures.

Candy Gaurd
Candy Gaurd was an animator who made her work in the feminist time. She wasn’t an extremist and she liked to show a women’s point of view in a funny way. I think she has a really good sense of humour, and makes good points and touches on strong topics while still keeping it light hearted and humorous. She didn’t really make points about feminism instead she just looked at the thoughts and feelings of average women and made them into short films. I think her film about dieting is very funny, and shows a funny realistic view on women.
